A Letter to Our Future from the CLMA

Dear community member,

It remains a challenging time, but we have every reason to be optimistic.

The Canadian Live Music Association (CLMA) would like to thank you for your engagement with our #CanadaIsLiveMusic Election 2025 campaign. By April 28th, you will have sent an incredible 3000 individual letters to candidates across the country, asking our future government to deepen their understanding of the power and potential of live music, and to act on our ability to directly impact the economy, the careers of Canadian artists, and the global visitor economy.

Penetrating the headlines wasn’t easy, but we did – across Canada and around the world. This advocacy effort was about more than just filling inboxes – it was about bold ideas, demonstrating our ability to champion a common message by working together, and sharing new data that definitively quantifies our sector like never before. We met the goals we set out to achieve, and in doing so, have built many new relationships for the future. We can’t wait to begin our partnership with the next Government of Canada on your behalf.

On Monday, we will vote. Our final request to you as our campaign comes to an end is to ask that you vote too. Our Canadian values help us in creating a richer, more compassionate, and innovative society. These same values inherently define our own community as well.

Thank you for believing in a Canada where live music doesn’t just matter – but makes us who we are.

#CanadaIsLiveMusic
