the study telling the
story of canada’s live
music industry

The Canadian Live Music Association (CLMA), in collaboration with consulting firm Nordicity, is currently conducting the first-ever Economic Impact Assessment of the live music industry in Canada.

The research will quantify the direct, indirect, and induced economic impacts of the live music sector, including the tourism and fiscal impact of the industry at the national level. Data will also estimate the social and music industry-related impacts at the national level.

Demonstrating the impact of our sector will help to shift the narrative and ensure positive, progressive growth on behalf of the industry.

As a first step, the CLMA and Nordicity, are launching a survey directed at, and intended to be completed by, all those who work in the Canadian live music industry. The survey will serve as the tool for the sector to engage, provide their input, and help make history.

“Live music industry” means any industry association, business, organization or individual involved in any aspect of concert production, promotion and/or execution (e.g. artists, venues, festivals, agents, promoters, publicists, managers, suppliers, technicians, and staff).

Together, let’s harness the power of data to enact positive change and secure the ongoing growth and prosperity of Canada’s cultural landscape. Play your part in making history, and take the survey today!

Survey Close Date: Thursday, June 6th, 2024
